Liam: What do you make of the proposed start date for the NRL? I think they are getting a bit ahead of themselves if you ask me
Speedy: Are they still talking about having that two conference thing?
Liam: Last I had heard they were still considering that as an option.
Speedy: That would just be making it more like the Yanks. They like to have their conferences over there. They seem reasonable confident they will be able to go ahead. Do you think they will go on from where it was when the season was postponed?
Liam: I know there were a few teams who were pushing to have the first two rounds rubbed out and starting fresh and if they were to go with the conference set up I don't see another way around it.
Speedy: I think having a redraw is stupid. It benefits the clubs who made a poor start to the season. I think they should leave things the way they are and pick up the season as if it is round three. There were six undefeated clubs when it was called off, and Souths weren't one of them, but if they said to keep going, I wouldn't be complaining.
Liam: The complaints will never come from the sides doing well though mate we both know that.
Speedy: There is a certain high-flyer who wants them to scrap the points, and you don't have to be a scholar to work out why. He is the owner of the Roosters who are sitting down near the bottom of the table.
Liam: I guess we will find out more details after their meeting on Tuesday night. But when you have politicians and health professionals tell you that you shouldn't do it, I think they should take that on board.
Speedy: Will they have closed crowds and just have it on TV. They did that in the first couple of rounds, and it wasn't all that bad.
Liam: There are some logistical problems with borders to Queensland closed to non-essential travel which sport would fall under as well as the Warriors with international travel out of New Zealand is basically impossible. There are a lot of hoops to get through.
Speedy: Just on something a bit different I think I have seen the winner of the Melbourne Cup on Saturday. The horse that won the Queen Elizabeth Stakes. It is an English horse he won his first start out here, and that was his second, and his name is Addeybb. That was over 2400m, which means he has another 800m to go, but he won it with his ears pricked so he should be able to handle the extra 800m.
