With camping grounds and parks closing due to the coronavirus pandemic, the NSW Local Land Services office has reminded community members they are not allowed to camp on travelling stock reserves throughout the region.
The reserves are areas of Crown-owned land which have been used in the past to move stock and allow for grazing, with some reserves also earmarked due to their ability for biodiversity conservation and indigenous culture.
Local Land Services' travelling stock reserve leader Gary Rodda said reserves are not available for recreational use at the moment due to public health advice.
"Travelling stock reserves are not available at present for any recreational purpose, including camping," Mr Rodda said.
"Anyone thinking of heading out bush to camp on a travelling stock reserve needs to think again and remember that travelling stock reserves around the state are subject to surveillance."
