Police were called to a vehicle fire along Banna Avenue between Crossing Street and Lenehan Road at 2am on Sunday where a green Holden Astra was destroyed by fire.
Members of the Griffith Fire and Rescue service called to extinguish the fire, with no damage to other vehicles along the road.
It is unconfirmed what caused the fire, however it was indicated the fire began in the vehicle's cabin.
The vehicle was parked along a section of Banna Avenue which is commonly used for owners to put vehicles on display for sale.
Murrumbidgee Police District crime manager Detective Inspector Eugene Stek said while police do regularly patrol the main street, owners should take their vehicles home where possible to ensure they are properly secured rather than leaving them unattended.
"Take your vehicles home and ensure they are properly secured," Detective Inspector Stek said.
Detective Inspector Stek said vehicle owners should also ensure any valuables are taken out of vehicles before leaving them unattended, as potential thieves could take the opportunity to access the vehicle with ease.

The vehicle travelled at a high speed through the empty area towards Rifle Range Road, where police were able to catch up with the vehicle.
The ute then took another exit off the road to drive into bush-land, before coming to a stop after getting stuck on a dirt mound.
Officers approached the vehicle and arrested both the driver and the passenger of the ute.
The driver has been issued with infringements for failing to stop, negligent driving and not complying with P-plate provisions, with investigations ongoing.

The driver of the Hyundai said their foot slipped off the brakes while attempting to stop the vehicle, with the driver issued a ticket for negligent driving.
A passenger in the Hyundai was treated for neck pains and was released from hospital with no sustained ongoing injuries.
