The 52 year old man was pulled over on Irrigation Way near Yoogali on Thursday after a resident in Leeton saw him almost hit another car.
The witness called the police, and officers pulled the Blue Toyota Yarris over a short time later at 8.20pm.
The man produced an Indian driver's licence, which police noticed had a photo that did not look like him.
He tested positive to alcohol after a breath test, and was arrested and taken back to the station.
Checks discovered the man had never held an Australian driver's licence, and he admitted the card he showed police was a fake.
His breath analysis returned a high reading of 0.197, and he told officers he had only had one beer that afternoon.
He was suspended, and given a court attendance notice for high range drink-driving - first offence, and presenting a false document.
The very next afternoon, police were called after an accident at the intersection of Burrell Place and Binya Street.
At about 5.40pm, the same 52-year-old man driving a white Toyota HiLux ute mounted the gutter, drove along the garden strip and accelerated, crashed into the signs, finally coming to stop perched on top of them.
Police noticed his eyes were bloodshot, he was wobbly on his feet, smelt of liquor, and appeared well and truly intoxicated.
