Already, 500 people have signed up to participate and have collected their bibs, and yet organisers are confident and hopeful to have over double that.
"We are all looking forward to a lovely community morning," committee member Cheryl Wood said.
"We thank the sponsors that have come on board to help stage the event... 100 per cent of the proceeds of the event will go to Griffith Can Assist."
Online registration is open until 4pm the Saturday before, however those spontaneous sorts can wake up on the day and pop down to the start line, so long as they are there by 7.30am.
The event will start from the Jubilee Oval on Sunday March 8.
The bike riders leave first at 8am and then the runners ten minutes later.
Entry is $25 for adults and $10 for under 17 years.
Families of two adults and up to three children can get tickets for $50. Medals will be presented to the winners of each age category.
After the arduous trek, everyone can unwind at the lake with a Lion's Club barbecue, Real Juice refreshments, and live entertainment featuring local country star Harriet Kelly.
