Hanwood has boosted their chances of ending their finals drought after picking up a three-wicket win over Diggers on Saturday evening.
Diggers won the toss and elected to bat however, it was Hanwood who were able to make the strong start with Ben Rowston (1/18) picking up the wicket of Luke Peruzzi (3).
Ben Fattore and Trevor Richards worked hard to get their side back on track with a 33-run partnership before Fattore (8) and Theo Valeri (2) fell in quick succession to Hanwood captain Charlie Cunial (2/35).
With the score on 3/41, Tom Valeri joined Richards out in the middle and looked to build their side's innings.
The fourth-wicket pairing put on 43 runs in nine overs before Oliver Bartter caught Valeri (19) off the bowling of Angus Bartter (1/18).
Richards continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over and posted a half-century while Matt Crack worked hard at the other end.
The pair were able to put on 47 before Richards (64) was run out by Dean Catanzariti.
Matt (29*) and Dean Crack (19*) put on a quickfire 27-run partnership to see Diggers declare on 5/162 after 42 overs.
Hanwood were left with 43 overs to try and chase down the target but were on the back foot early when Micheal Crosato (0) fell to the bowling of Theo Valeri.
Catanzariti (11) followed nine runs later when he was dismissed by Matt Peruzzi (1/31) but Oliver Bartter and Jaryd Day were able to get their side back on track.
The third-wicket partnership put on 38 runs to get their side past fifty before Day (9) fell to the bowling of Matt Crack.
Bartter kept the scoreboard ticking over with a 23-run stand with Jordan Whitworth before Crack (2/33) took his second wicket when he dismissed Whitworth (7).
Bartter posted his half-century before he fell with his side on 96, but Hanwood's lower order ensured they remained on track.
Cunial (18) and Rowston (15) got starts before Jamie Whitworth (21*), and Angus Bartter (14) were able to guide their side to a three-wicket win with 2.2 overs remaining.
