After the disappointing start to the season, Coach Trevor Richards is confident his side are in a better position to get a side on the park this weekend.
"To the best of my knowledge I think we will have a team this week," he said.
"We would still like a couple more to come on board, but we are in a much better position than last week.
"After speaking with the girls at training and having heard nothing back about them not being able to play, we will probably be running at a minimum, but we should have a side."
The side faces the difficult task of taking on last year's premiers Charles Sturt University in the grand final rematch at Exies Oval.
The CSU side will be coming into the clash looking to start their season off on the right foot having had the bye in round one.
Richards knows his side are going to be in for a tough test.
"I noticed that we played them this weekend and it's not ideal, but we have to play them eventually," he said.
"It is going to be a tough, physical game for the new girls in the side to start off with."
The Swans will be heading into the season with half the side playing their first year of Australian Rules, but Richards is still confident his team will be competitive.
"We have the nucleus of a good side," he said.
"We have had a couple of girls move away and a couple who couldn't fully commit to the full season.
"Training has been good, and I'm still quietly confident that we will be competitive."
Richards plan is to spread the experience across the field to help give pointers to the girls who are heading into their first game this week.
"We are focusing on trying to strengthen the side as a whole," he said.
"We could put them all into the midfield and be really strong through there, but then I feel we would probably be missing the experience that you need in the other areas.
"It's about trying to spread the knowledge to help out the newer girls.
"We have had some come across from league tag and touch where you only have to worry about your opponent coming from one direction whereas in AFL you need to be alert from all directions.
"Hopefully having the experience around them will help them gain a bit of confidence."
This week will be one of the two home games for the Swans with first bounce set for around 7.30pm on Friday at Exies No 2.
