It is an unfortunate position to be in for the Roosters who are heading into the season as defending premiers in the first and reserve grade competition while their under 18s finished runners-up last season.

"We are not too sure if we are going to be able to get an under 18s or 16s side for this season," he said.

"We will be holding a meet and greet alongside a registration night at the Darlington Point Sportsground on Friday starting at 6.30pm and need some more juniors to come along.

"The 16s and 18s are a big part of the club, and we need probably about a half a dozen more."

In more promising news for the Roosters, Leadbitter is confident the first grade and reserve grade sides have what it takes to go back-to-back.

"We have only lost two out of the premiership side for the first graders," he said.

"We have picked up Adam McCann from the Illawarra competition, he played for Dapto last year so he should be pretty handy for us."

Leadbitter also paid credit to the sponsor's who have given generously to the club.

"With the water situation in the area and no farming being done at the Coleambally Community Farm, the footy club is relying heavily on sponsorships," he said.

"Their generosity is greatly appreciated by the club, players and supporters."

The Roosters will also be holding a season launch at the Griffith Golf Club on Saturday, March 14.
