Barellan batted first and after a slow start which had them at 2/5, a 44 run partnership between Bailey Winter and Zac Kessey put the home side on the way to a score of 91.
Some sloppy fielding and catching in the early part of the Barellan innings proved costly.
Griffith's bowlers stuck to their task and brought the Barellan score back from a dangerous 4/78 to have them all out 13 runs later.
Kadon Williams (2/2) and Liam James (2/22) both chipped in with the ball taking two wickets each.
Griffith got off to a terrible start, losing the wicket off the first all and captain, Cooper Rand, to a run out. Griffith's top four batsmen were back in the pavilion with the score on 17.
Liam James put some life into the tail end of the innings with his nine not out but Griffith were eventually all out for 48 within 18 overs.
Jed Budd (9) and Owen Robinson (8) both chipped in with the bat but it wasn't enough to make a difference.
The two side will meet again this weekend when the Milliken Shield final takes centre stage at Barellan on Sunday.
