The exhibition, Each for Equal, is timed to coincide with International Women's Day in March.
"International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality," Griffith City Council's arts and museum manager Raina Savage said.
"To celebrate this important occasion the gallery has dedicated an exhibition to recognising the artistic excellence of women artists in our region.
"We have selected 10 female artists with diverse backgrounds and artistic practices.
"The artists are: Sophie Chauncey, Veronica Collins, Linzie Ellis, Pam Kent, Sarah McEwan, Janine Murphy, Anthea da Silva, Lisa Taliano, Diane Tarr, and Kerri Weymouth.
"Many of these artists will be well known to our audience for producing aesthetically beautiful as well as conceptually compelling artworks."
Two free events will be tied into the exhibition including a public talk by artist and art historian Anthea da Silva on February 27.
Residents can meet the artists behind the work on March 14.
"This will be a great opportunity to learn more about the ideas and inspirations behind the artworks in the exhibition," Ms da Silva said.
The exhibition opens on Friday, February 21 at 6pm.
