STACY NAMED FREEMAN OF THE CITY
Roy Stacy was awarded the highest honour from Griffith City Council on this day in 2015, being named Freeman of the City.
Mayor John Dal Broi said the achievement was awarded to Stacy as he had dedicated his life to helping others within the community.
MULTIPLE DRIVING CHARGES FOR LOCAL
A 49-year-old Griffith man was charged on this day in 2015, after being clocked at 151 km/h in a 60 km/h speed zone and returning a breath test reading on 0.081.
His license was immediately suspended and his number plates were seized for three months.
PLANS FOR POOL PUSHED BACK
Griffith City Council made an announcement on this day in 2015, stating that plans for a 50 metre outdoor pool in town would be delayed past the end of the year.
A working group was instead established, to develop a master plan for the future development of Griffith Regional Aquatic Leisure Centre.
