The Cougars were able to make a strong start with Matt Signor and Jamie Bennett at the top of the order putting on 49 for the first wicket before Shannon Caughey (2/19) struck to remove Signor (31).
Bennett (41) kept the score ticking over while Stephen Witherspoon (24) made a contribution to see the Cougars bowled out for 148 after 34.2 overs.
Hanwood lost the wicket of Zac Ruediger (0) early when he was trapped in front by Andrew McIntyre (1/12) but Tom (18) and Oliver Bartter (33) were able to get their side back on track with a 58-run partnership.
When the Bartter brothers fell, Jason Bertacco (54*) was able to get his side into a strong position and looking set to take victory on 7/140 off 32.2 overs.
Unfortunately in a game were interruptions were common with both the weather and lights at the ground posing issues, the game was decided on run rate with Hanwood taking the points with just .02 separating the sides.
It was another close encounter when Leagues Panthers took on Coleambally at Westend Oval.
Coleambally's Jack Weymouth-Smith was able to do some early damage as he picked up the wickets of Teao Woetai (10) and Shae Prudham (2) before Ryan Minato and Angus Gunn played a composed hand.
The third-wicket partnership lifted the Panthers to 61 before Gunn (8) and Babar Safdar (7) were dismissed by Shane Taylor (2/17) while Ryan Minato (18) was run out by Sam Breed.
Breed (1/22) and Weymouth-Smith (3/19) took a wicket each before Sri Puram (2/19) took the final wickets to see Leagues reach the end of their 40 overs on 9/106.
Weymouth-Smith and Neil Burke had the Nomads on track after the loss of an early wicket, but the bowling of Teao Woetai (3/24) slowed the scoring.
Taylor looked to have the Nomads on track for victory before Liam Warren (2/19) sent a late scare though the Coleambally camp with the wickets of Breed (4) and Bhargav Lavu (1) but Taylor (37*) and Ben Smith (1*) were able to get their side across the line with 7.1 overs left.
In the final game, a five-wicket haul to Daniel Duckworth (5/31) wasn't enough to see Exies defeat Diggers.
Paresh Patil (33), Damien Browning (32) and Tom Harper (27) were able to get Diggers to 137 before they were dismissed. Cameron Harrison (27) and Jay Mitchell (23) offered some resistance but Harper (4/11) was accurate with the ball to see Diggers take the 44-run win.
