The Hay side won the toss and elected to bat and was able to make a strong start with Dean Aylett and Dayon Johnson at the top of the order.
The pair were able to put on 66 runs before Tom Greenaway (1/28) struck to remove Aylett (23) while Johnson followed five runs later when he was stumped off the bowling of Jack Hutchinson (1/23) to see Hay sitting on 2/76 after 24 overs.
The visitors were able to keep the score ticking over with Simon Bunyan leading the way, and he was well supported by the middle order.
Bunyan put on 42 runs with Luke Arandt (18) before he was stumped off the bowling of Liam Greenaway (1/16), but Blake Aylett was able to come out and pick up where Arandt left off as he and Bunyan pushed Hay past the 150-mark.
In the search of quick runs late in the innings, Aylett (16), Bunyan (64) and Jack Cattanach (10) fell to the bowling of Teei Piawi (3/27) before Digby Lilburne (8*) and Jackson Ferguson (1*) closed out Hay's innings to see them finish on 6/190 after their 45 overs.
Griffith was able to make a strong start at the top of the order with Craig Burge and Ben Leach putting on 46 runs for the first wicket before Burge (10) was run out by Bunyon.
The bowling of Bunyan (5/23) would prove to be the thorn in the side of Griffith as he showed his all-round ability to claim five wickets in seven overs and put the pressure on the lower order of the home side.
Leach (35) was the only batsman in the top order to offer any resistance while Piawi (18) tried to offer some resistance in the lower order, but the bowling of Bunyon, Dean Aylett (2/18) and Brad Pocock (1/24) saw the Griffith side bowled out for 118 in the 33rd over to see Hay heading back across the Hay Plains with the Creet Cup.
There will be over a month break for the Creet Cup with the next challenge coming from Ardlethan/Barellan on February 23 which is also the final challenge for the season with challenges on January 26 and February 9 unfilled.
