The Coro side won the toss and elected to bat and was able to make a strong start with Dean Bennett and Mitch Williams-Hedges at the top of the order.
It was a composed start which saw the Cougars post 51 off the opening 10 overs without the loss of a wicket.
The Cougars would reach 71 before Exies were able to make the first breakthrough with Williams-Hedges falling to the bowling of Aditha Jayasuriya (1/41).
Bennett was able to post his half-century before he was the next to depart when he was caught off the bowling of Connor Bock (1/33).
The Cougars were able to keep the runs ticking over as captain Haydn Pascoe, and Rob Rand got their side to 147 before Rand was run out by Andy Arnold seeing the Cougars sitting on 3/147 off 34 overs.
Pascoe and Angus Boulton were able to add 40 runs off the remaining six overs with Pascoe posting his third half-century of the season to see the Cougars finish their 40 overs on 3/187.
It was going to be a tough chase for the Eagles side, and the task was made even harder when Jayasuriya (1) was run out by Damien Walker.
Phil Burge and Marc Tucker put on 16 runs for the second wicket before Tucker (8) fell to the bowling of Alex Flood (1/20).
Travers Pickmere joined Burge in the middle as they looked to get their side back on track with Exies sitting on 2/21 after 11 overs and were able to add 25 runs before Burge (17) was the next to fall when he was trapped in front by Bennett.
Pickmere and Craig Burge tried to keep the score ticking over and got their side to 72 before Kyle Bennett (1/22) picked up the wicket of Pickmere while Dean Bennett (2/19) dismissed Josh Davis (0) three balls later to see Exies in trouble at 5/72.
Burge (30*) and Arnold (11) were the only batsmen who were able to get starts as Walker (3/15) ripped through the lower order to give the Cougars the bonus-point win.
