Overseas workers will be warmly welcomed into Griffith in typical Aussie fashion with a good old fashioned barbecue.
Soroptimist International Griffith will be launching a monthly free sausage sizzle at the City Park barbecue area, with the first one kicking off this Sunday from 12pm to 1pm.
Soroptimist Will Mead said overseas workers were a crucial part of Griffith's workforce, and that they should be made to feel right at home.
"They're an important part of our economy, so we want to make them feel welcome in the community," Ms Mead said.
The barbecues will be held on the second Sunday of every month, and they will be free for all overseas workers and members of the community.
Soroptimist Louise Miller said it could be an isolating experience living in a foreign country with little to no social support network, which is why she wanted to bring people together.
"If they're coming into town it's a good way to mix and mingle with other people and get to know the locals," Ms Miller said.
