Sophie Smith is the Founder and Managing Director of the Running for Premature Babies Foundation, and author of the memoir 'Sophie's Boys'.
Mrs Smith and her husband Ash were determined to transform the inexplicable grief from losing their triplets Henry, Jasper and Evan from premature birth complications.
They sparked the idea to run a half marathon and raise $20,000 for one lifesaving humidicrib for the hospital that cared for their babies, and grew to inspiring over 4000 people to run and raise over $3.5 million, directly benefiting over 5500 premature babies and their families.
The foundation is now a registered charitable foundation providing lifesaving neonatal equipment and research to give premature babies a better chance of survival.

Australia Day awards and citizenship ceremony will be held on Saturday 26 at Woodside Hall kicking off at 9.30am.
