The bushfires have brought out the best in people across Griffith, with charities springing up all over town to help raise funds for the bushfire victims, firefighters, and the animals.

One of them is Needy Paws dog rescue, which is raising money for the thousands of injured and evacuated animals currently being cared for in Wagga shelters.
They'll be donating money, beds, and pet food to help the shelters deal with the enormous influx of animals.
They're also raising money to help pay for the medical treatment of five horses who have suffered serious burns during the bushfires.

Needy Paws volunteer Celinea Reedy said the fires had caused serious damage to the animals, and that true extent of the damage would continue to be felt long after the bushfires were extinguished.
"Many animals are going to be there for a long time, and some that are not going to be able to go home because their homes aren't there any more," she said.
"We just want to do what we can to help them."
