This year we come to Christmas,
Suffering fire and suffering drought,
With many still uncertain,
Their futures draped in drought,
And as this year is ending,
And we all really feel the pinch,
We somehow find it in us,
To fight against the grinch.
We find something in our pockets,
To buy each child a toy,
And we share a mood that's festive,
And we spread about some joy.
Because it's as we come together,
Breaking bread and sharing cheer,
That we understand this season,
Is about what we hold dear.
