The visiting side won the toss and set about trying to set a competitive total with a strong opening partnership from Kye O'Neill and Dean Harris.
The openers were able to put on 36 runs for the first wicket before Theo Valeri was able to make the breakthrough with the wicket of O'Neill (21) in the ninth over.
Nine runs late Harris (25) joined him in the pavilion after he was run out by Charlie Cunial and then trouble really struck for the visiting side with the score on 60.
Mick Ireland (2) was dismissed by Ben Rowston (1/18) before Valeri (4/48) ripped through to take the wickets of Tristan Buttenshaw (0), Nathan Morris (0) and Greg McFadyen (2) during a spell of 17 straight overs while Connor Bock (1/14) dismissed Mitchell Johnson (19).
If not for some lower-order runs from J Nicholson (18) and K Robertson (15) saw the visitors score 111 off 37 overs after Oliver Bartter (2/3) and Cunial (1/26) claimed the final wickets.
With time well and truly on the side of Griffith, Ryan Greenaway and Mitchell Williams-Hedges headed out after the lunch break looking to get their team off to a strong start.
The pair were able to get their side to 39 in the 10th overs before Greenaway was struck on the pads by Buttenshaw (1/58) and was given out.
Haydn Pascoe joined Williams-Hedges in the middle, and the pair looked to continue to build on their side's start however after getting their side to 59, Pascoe top-edged on off the bowling of Johnson (1/20) who comfortably took the catch off his own bowling.
After bowling for almost the entire innings, Valeri (3 retired hurt) came to the crease however his stay was short-lived as he was struck by the ball and forced to leave the field.
Tom Valeri replaced his injured brother and alongside Williams-Hedges (36*) were able to get their side past the 100-mark and within three runs of victory before Valeri (18) was dismissed by Joel Golding (1/1).
It was of little concern for the Griffith side however with Oliver Bartter (4*) able to finish the game off and see Griffith secure the win with 32 overs remaining.
