The Griffith side made the start they were looking for after being sent in to bat with Kyle Bennett picking up the early wickets of Jesse Hampton (1) and Gerard O'Brien (5) in consecutive overs to see the visiting side sitting on 2/10 after four overs.
Al Edis and T Roscarel were able to get their side back on track with a 74-run partnership which really put the pressure back on the Griffith bowlers.
With the score on 84, Liam Greenaway was able to bounce back from a rough first over which saw him go for 17 runs and picked up the wicket of Roscarel (30).
Rhyle Davis (4) was bowled by Jamie Winkler (1/24) with the score on 93 while three overs later Edis (45) became the second of Greenaway's (2/40) victims when he was caught by Reece Matheson just short of achieving fifty.
The wickets in clumps continued for West Wyalong as B Smith (9) was run out to see the visiting side sitting on 5/106 after 25 overs.
Contributions from lower down the order including Rob Edis (11) help keep the score ticking over, but Bennett (3/22) and Will Kennedy (2/24) help restrict West Wyalong to 148 when they were bowled out in the 38th over.
Griffith was able to make a strong start in reply getting the score to 16 within the first five overs however did lose the wicket of Ben Leach (9) who was trapped in front by Hampton.
The home side then lost three wickets in the space of eight runs with Hampton striking again to remove Winkler (3) while Will Kennedy (0) fell without troubling the scorers and Matheson (3) followed closely behind when he was knocked over by Fitzgerald.
With the side needing some consistency, Craig Burge and Rob Rand were exactly what Griffith needed out in the middle.
The pairing was able to put on 59 runs before Burge fell to Josh Roscarel (1/25), but Liam Greenaway joined Rand in the middle and made sure the good work wasn't going to go to waste.
After another strong partnership got Griffith to 122, Rand (40) fell to the bowling of Fitzgerald (40), but it didn't cause too much issue for the home side with Greenaway (39*) and Bennett (9*) able to get their team across the line with three wickets in hand and six overs remaining.
