The Exies side won the toss and decided to bowl first, and it looked the right decision as Daniel Duckworth was able to claim the early wicket of Jamie Bennett (3).
Matt Signor and Justin Moat were able to get their side back on track with a 47-run stand before Jimmy Mann trapped Signor (17) in front. Andrew Potter and Moat were able to keep the scoreboard ticking over as they passed the hundred-mark before Potter (23) was dismissed by James Roche (1/31).
Stephen Witherspoon (11) and Andrew McIntyre (22*) were able to help Moat (107*) get the Cougars to a competitive total of 5/196 off their 40 overs.
Roche (69) was the standout with the bat for the Eagles as he posted a half-century to give the Exies side a chance of chasing down the substantial total.
Jacob Testoni (14), Bradyn Challis (21), Daniel Duckworth (12) and Josh Davis (10) tried to play a supporting role for Roche, but they ultimately run out of time as they reached the end of their 40 overs on 9/172.
Bennett (2/10) and Potter (2/30) were the pick of the bowlers for the Cougars as they picked up the 24-run win which ensured they stayed in first place.
Exies Diggers were able to take a convincing win over Leagues as the two sides met at the Showgrounds.
The Leagues Panthers made a strong start with Teao Woetai hitting a six off the first ball, but Daniel Dossetor had the last laugh in the first over when he knocked over Woetai (10).
It was a tough day with the bat for the Panthers as the side had six batsmen dismissed for ducks with Dossetor (3/20), Damien Browning (4/10) and Leon Vico (2/17) doing the damage.
Karamveer Brar (21*) was the only Leagues batsmen to score over 20 as the side was bowled out for 47 in 23.1 overs.
Diggers wasted no time passing the total as Mick Duncan (29*) and Mark Favell (12*) were able to guide their side to a ten-wicket win in just under five overs.
