It is the first time in several years that Griffith has put in a challenge for the Hedditch Cup, but coach Tim Rand is looking forward to the challenge.
"It isn't something that is on our radar," he said.
"We are normally too busy with O'Farrell and Creet, but with the changes this season we thought we would snap up the first challenge for the year.
"We haven't played them (Leeton) much of the last couple of years, but it is always good to go up against a rival."
With the Creet Cup game being Rand's first in charge he was pleased to get underway with a win.
"I thought we might be in a bit of trouble at the beginning, but we pulled them back well in the second half with Bocky (Connor Bock) and the spinners," he said.
"The run chase was really pleasing because we were able to get it done with plenty of time remaining."
There are only three changes to the side that came back from Lakes with the Creet Cup with Will and Angus Kennedy along with Charlie Cunial sitting out the clash.
It opens the door for two handy inclusions with Dean Bennett and Ben Rowston coming into the side after missing the Creet Cup due to rep commitments with the Murrumbidgee/Northern Riverina side at Graham Gorrell Cup last weekend.
"Having Dean back into the side strengthens what is already a pretty strong batting line-up," he said.
"He can bowl some handy off-spinners as well so it is great to have him back in the side."
Leeton has only played one other representative game this season which saw them fall to Lake Cargelligo in the opening Creet Cup challenge for the season.
The clash between the old rivals will get underway at 10am on Sunday at Mark Taylor Oval.
