There is a tight contest forming in fourth grade with the top three teams separated by just five points following the seventh round of the season.
Diggers were able to knock off the top of the table Cougars. After winning the toss and electing to bat Coro lost two early wickets as Manan Dave (2/4) removed Thomas Jamieson (3) and Noah Kirkman (7).
Jack Furner (22) and Bebe Kenny (30) led a fightback for the Cougars, but tight bowling from Cade Anderson (2/15) and Philippa Elwin (2/13) took two wickets each to see the Coro side bowled out for 90 in 21.5 overs.
Diggers lost Noah Puntoriero (1) who was dismissed by Joseph Macri (1/9) before Meli Ranitu (13) and Tomas Goirigolzarri (10) were able to lead a fightback.
The pair were able to put on 22 runs before Patrick Mickan (1/16), Liam James (1/6) and Ryan Andrighetto (1/6) took three quick wickets.
Seamus Maley (17) and Angus Argent-Smith (29) put on 41 to put their side into a strong position before they fell in quick succession leaving Christian Dall'est (5*) and Dave (1*) getting their side over the line with 2.3 overs remaining.
In the other game, Hanwood were able to stay within touching distance of top spot with a win over Exies Eagles.
It was a tough start for Exies as they lost the wickets of Brandon Williams (0) and Kadon Wiliams (0) were dismissed by Charlie Tuohey while Tom Hornbuckle (1/8) took the wicket of Bhavia Chaudhari (1) and Bradley Williams (1/20) claimed Aiden Ashcroft (5).
Vishva Mestrige (29) and Bailey Morrissey (47) were among the top scorers for the Eagles as their side were eventually bowled out for 132 in 23 overs.
The Hanwood side made a strong start with Rahul Giran and Ryan Mecham before Ashcroft removed Mecham (39) while Giran (17) was bowled.
Josh Serafin (22*) and Luke Cannon were able to get their side to within touching distance of the win. While Morrissey (1/14) claimed the wicket of Cannon (28), Hanwood were able to come away with a seven-wicket win with eight overs remaining to move five points behind the Cougars.
