Brian Grandi, 36 points, won A Grade, recovering from a dirty day on the outward nine to card 21 points home, allowing him to take the countback over Sam Ranney (36 points, 17 out and 19 in, nailing a birdie on the 9th) on a countback from Bryan Trembath, Slim Cavanaugh and Cody Stokes.

Len Carvell, 37 points, was best in B Grade - nailing a birdie on the 14th - on a countback from Steve Crowe, 37 points. He was looking a winner after scoring 21 points out, but slipped to 16 home. Terry Greedy, 37 points, won C Grade, carding a four point par on the 12th, on a countback from Tyler Boller 37 points, but only 16 in. Charlie Guglielmino and Bryan Salvestro won the Pro Pins. Par 3s: 4th John Bortolazzo, 7th & 11th Graham Campbell, 16th Keith Woodbridge. Vouchers to 34 points.
The finals of the handiskins was also played on Saturday with Neil Haffey, Luke De Valentin, Alf Franchi and Mark Townsend vying for the big money skins. Mahaffey and De Valentin won the most skins, $475 each, followed by Townsend and Franchi. Townsend also won the pin prize.
Despite the threat of rain, 44 players contested a single stableford last Sunday. Mike Coleman, with a great score of 43 points, won A Grade ahead of Steve Matheson, 38 points. Andy Arnold, 36 points, best in B Grade on a countback from Lama Lolotonga, 36 points. Grant Gyles, 35 points, won C Grade also on a countback from Andrew Oates, 35 points. Jason Magoci eagled the 13th. Ngaarau Noa won the 7th pin, Paul Woodland 16th. Vouchers to 34 points.
Junior Golf Clinics are being held every Sunday at 10am. The small fee includes all golf gear.
A gold medal round - a single stroke for players who have won a monthly over the year in each grade - will be played on Saturday, with the gold medal winner in each grade also winning return airfares to Sydney thanks to Rex Airlines. A list of monthly medal winners is on the noticeboard.
Today's event for members a single stableford; Saturday's is a single stroke and Sunday's a medley stableford.
The veterans played a single stableford last Thursday in two grades. Tony McBride, 38 points, won 0-18 Grade ahead of Joe Cudmore, 36 points. Lance Gilbert (Yenda) won 19-36 Grade; Wal Hood (36 points) was second on a countback from Bill Brown. Allan King won the 4th pin, John Brennick 8th, John F. Gale 15th. Bill Brown, Keith Woodbridge, Bill Carter, Roy Calabria won vouchers.
A two-grade single stableford was played last Wednesday. Jason Magoci fired two-under par 69 to win 0-18 Grade on 40 points; Dom Gugliemino (37 points) was second. Len Sexton, 39 points, was best in19-36 Grade from Frank Zambon, 38 points. James Browne won the 7th pin, Jeff Wiscombe 15th. Vouchers to 34 points.
