The Rotary Club of Griffith hosted the event once again, bringing Christmas spirit and holiday cheer to the centre of town.
Paul Condon, community officer at the Rotary Club, told The Area News this event aims to bring people together and celebrate the beginning of the Christmas period.
"This [Christmas] is what it's all about," he said.
"It's a good family fun night, that's what we work on... everything we raise goes back into the community."
The community Christmas tree was also lit by Mayor John Dal Broi, with many locals staying after the carnival to enjoy the annual tradition.
Griffith City Council allocated $30,000 to the beautification of Banna Avenue in December 2019, helping bring the addition of fairy lights along the median strip and extra tree decorations.
