This weekend will see Hanwood, currently in second, taking on Exies Diggers who side just two points behind them.
Hanwood will be coming into the game off the back of a convincing 10-wicket win over Leagues in their last match while Diggers picked up an outright win over Exies Eagles two weeks ago before having the bye last weekend.
It will see four of the top five batsmen in the GDCA first grade competition facing off with Oliver Barrter and Brendan Hicken of Hanwood sitting in second and third while the Valeri brothers, Tom and Theo, sit behind them in fourth and fifth.
Hanwood's young gun Barrter has been in a rich vein of form in recent weeks which has seen him hit two fifties in his last two innings as he settles into his second full season in first grade and if Diggers are able to get him early, it could swing the game in their favour.
In terms of bowlers, Hanwood's Dean Wynne will head into the clash with plenty of confidence after taking five wickets against the Panthers last weekend.
The two sides will battle it out under lights at Exies Oval with the first ball set to be delivered at 4.30pm.
