The Panthers won the toss and elected to bat but the loss of Ryan Greenaway (0) to the bowling of Dean Wynne in the first over of the day may have had the Leagues' side regretting their decision.
Matt Keenan and Andrew Madden tried to get their side back on track, but with the score 18, Keenan (6) fell to the bowling of Hanwood skipper Charlie Cunial (1/14).
Andrew Madden (14) was the only Leagues batsman who was able to break double digits as the bowling of Wynne (5/23) as the Panthers found themselves in real trouble at 6/37 after just 12.4 overs.
Ben Rowston (1/11) picked up the wicket of Kierren Williams (1) soon after and while Ryan Minato was able to occupy the crease for over half an hour the Panthers weren't able to make the impact needed on the scoreboard.
New recruit for Hanwood, Josh Carn (3/12) cleaning up the lower order to see Leagues bowled out for 63 in just 22 overs.
If the Panthers were to have any chance of protecting their small total early wickets would be key however the Hanwood opening combination of Brendan Hicken and Brad Hornery had other ideas and wanted the game over quickly.
The pair were able to get off to a quick start with Hanwood sitting on 0/16 after two overs and the pace continued with Hicken leading the way.
With 8.3 overs gone Hanwood were able to pass the modest total from the Panthers with Brendan Hicken (36) scoring at over a run a ball while Hornery (19) played the steady head role as their side took out the 10-wicket win.
Leagues will look to bounce back when they take on Coro Cougars next weekend while Hanwood will take on Diggers in the battle for second place.
