No fires are to be lit in Griffith, Leeton, Darlington Point, Hay, Coleambally and Narrandera as well as Carrathool Shire.
The fire ban is in effect on November 21 due to the forecast hot and windy conditions, the fire danger rating for Thursday is listed as severe.
Until the fire ban is lifted, no fire may be lit in the open and all fire permits are suspended.
This includes incinerators and barbecues which burn solid fuel, e.g. wood, charcoal or heat beads. No general purpose welding, grinding, soldering or gas cutting can be done in the open.

The total fire ban will be in effect for much of the rest of the state including the Eastern and Southern Riverina, the Southern and Northern Slopes, the Central and Southern Ranges, the Illawarra, South Western and North Western NSW.
When the fire danger rating is listed as severe or very high, only well-prepared homes which are actively defended can provide safety during a fire.
