The home side won the toss and elected to bat, with Kye O'Neil and Dean Harris getting their team off to a strong start.

The opening pairing put on 39 runs for the first wicket before Dan Hilliam (2/16) picked up the wickets of O'Neil (19) and Dean Harris (15) in the space of six runs.

While the Leeton side was able to claim the wicket of Colin Fisher (4) cheaply to the bowling of Brodie Perram, the middle order of Lake Cargelligo started to take the game away from the Wolves.

Mitchell Johnson (47) and Hiren Patel (18) got their side to 112 before Perram and Leeton skipper Jordan Camm (1/15).

Perram (3/45), Maclean Crompton (1/32) and Bryce Rogers (2/18) took wickets to keep the pressure on the Lake Cargelligo side.

Mick Ireland (50*) proved to be the thorn in the Wolves side late in the innings as he scored an unbeaten fifty to see his team reach a defendable total of 184.

The young opening combination of Jason Burke and Mathew Axtill tried to get their side off to a strong start and were able to put on 31 runs for the first wicket.

The bowling of Ryan O'Connor proved tough for the Wolves to deal with as he claimed the wickets of Burke (18), Axtill (13), Jock Yelland (2) and Jordan Camm (0) to put the Leeton side on the back foot at 4/45 after 17 overs.

The trouble continued with Bryce Rogers (4) and Andrew Kouzan (9) falling to the bowling of Greg McFadyen (2/8) while McLean Crompton followed the pair back to the pavilion when he was run out Lachlan Robertson to see Leeton staring down the barrel of a heavy defeat, sitting on 7/58 with 24 overs bowled.

Connor Vearing and Thomas Camm were able to find their footing to get 18 runs on the board however it was short-lived as Johnson (1/18) picked up Vearing (9) with the score on 76 while Camm (14) was caught off the bowling of Fisher (1/3) just six runs later.

Dan Hillam (9*) and Rohan Lacey (10) added some late runs, but it made little difference to the result as the Wolves were bowled out for 102 to see Lake Cargelligo maintain possession of the Creet Cup.

The holders will take on Griffith on December 1.
