The streets will be bustling with activity on November 16, when over 1000 Sikhs come to celebrate the 550th anniversary of their religion's founder Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

His anniversary is celebrated every year by Sikhs around the world, but this year's anniversary will be bigger than anything the Griffith Sikh community has ever experienced.
Griffith Sikh Temple president Parshotam Singh said everyone is welcome to join the festivities, regardless of race or religion.
"Guru Nanak believed that everyone is equal, that we're all human beings," Mr Singh said.
"No matter your race, your gender, your religion, everyone is equal. Hence everyone sits on the floor and eats together as equals."

The festivities will kick off at 11.30am at Memorial Park with religious instrumental music, presentations and lunch, and then at 2pm there will be a grand procession from the park towards the temple.
Once they reach the temple there will be afternoon tea, and then at 7.30pm there will a free dinner followed by fireworks at 9pm.
