The concoction of atmosphere, people and passion made for a memorable evening, as Rubies for Tash took the spoils.

Owner, trainer and driver Bruce Harpley drove the bay mare across the line in first place by a margin of two metres, besting Rusty Crackers to clinch the top spot.

"She did get quite a bit of luck," Harpley chuckled.

"When the draws came out, it seemed like we ended up with all the luck."

The six-year-old has earned lifetime stakes of over $100,000 for Harpley. Rubies' racing pedigree could easily be labelled as moneymaking, after her stunning performance at the top-notch Dalton track blew spectators away.

"When we got out there, I just managed to get on the inside and push through," Harpley explained.

"It was hard to get past Rusty Crackers too, such speed and such a well-mannered horse.

"But it was great to be back in Griffith, I reminisced a little bit and managed to grab the victory."

Griffith Harness Racing Club were at the helm of this year's stapled Riverina event, boasting live music from local talent, bookmakers, a charity dash, face painting and even a jumping castle.

The committee banded together to host one of the most memorable Carnival of Cups held to date.

"I want to thank all of the community-minded people that helped us put on a such a great show," GHRC president Denis Conroy said.

"We've had great reports from Harness Racing New South Wales on the success of the evening."

Griffith duo Gary Gardner and UntyTheHood saw sixth place, while Tuesday night's winner Carramar Arapaho got the wooden spoon.

Results from across the board surprised everyone in attendance, with the draw contributing an air of uncertainty to the drivers and their horses.

Race favourite Rusty Crackers snatched second place, but third's Rockita and driver Bayley Duck chased with an 11-metre margin.

"I'll say, talk about a great night for racing," winner Bruce Harpley added.
