The Pacers Cup final is set to be a spectacle, with two fan-favourite MIA horses featuring.
Leeton's Carramar Arapaho and Griffith's UntyTheHood were locked in a solid battle during the heats at Dalton Park this week.
It was Carramar Arapaho who grabbed first in the Griffith Pacers Cup second heat as Blake Jones drove home the win beating UntyTheHood by just over one metre.
The winning six-year-old was actually a second choice runner for Leeton trainer Chris Hughes, but Carramar Arapaho proved his worth come race day.
"It wasn't the strongest heat, the first was a lot stronger," Mr Hughes explained.
"But he does fly out the gate and the others just can't get past him."
UntyTheHood saw a slow start in the race, but managed to work his way up the track from second-last to second place.
His performance over the last 800 metres highlighted the fighting spirit of the debutant horse trained by Griffith local Gary Gardner.
"He got close and probably should've won it," Mr Gardner said.
"But he has just come back from a spell, so now I'm expecting him to go close in the final."
Carnival of Cups gates will be opening at 5pm this Saturday. The featured TAB event at Dalton Park Racecourse is boasting live music, face painting, charity dash-for-cash, bookmakers, and plenty of food and drink.
The charity dash-for-cash will see the courageous men and women in attendance sprint one hundred metres for their nominated charity, with the winner's cause receiving proceeds from Griffith Harness Racing Club.
