Two young teens have made full confessions to damaging the Real Juice Citrus Sculptures on Banna Avenue last week.

As a result of police investigations into the malicious damage, which included CCTV footage examination, the two young people, 13 and 14, attended Griffith Police Station and were interviewed.
They both made full confessions to damaging the sculptures from 2.55am and 3am on Monday October 14, and will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
The result comes after police took a hard stance against the vandalism of the sculptures, with increased patrols of Banna Avenue and a specific investigation focusing on catching those responsible, calling anyone in the community to come forward with information.
The citrus vandal scandal rocked the Griffith community, especially since the vandalism occurred less than 24 hours after 700 volunteers put them all together.

Not the first time the sculptures were vandalised, four grown men were caught and sentenced for similar acts in 2017.
Two of the men were fined $500 each, one was fined $1000, and another was ordered to complete 50 hours of community service.
