Yoogali residents may sleep a little easier, with flood mitigation works on McCormack Road finally fast-tracked following the announcement of $400,000 in state funding.

The grant was announced by Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke, who is the nearest Nationals representative.
"I am sure this grant to the Griffith City Council will make great strides preparing the Yoogali community to combat natural disasters like floods," Ms Cooke said.
"In a place like Australia, where we can suffer bush fire one day and floods the next, building community resilience for natural disasters is vital."
The project has been a long time in the making and were prompted by the 2012 floods which inundated residents and business owners in Yoogali, Yenda, and Hanwood.
The grant money will go towards new culverts to increase bank-in capacity along the main drain as well as an ungraded levee to hold more water in the existing drainage channels in times of heavy rain.
Griffith City Council mayor John Dal Broi said the funding meant construction could begin "as soon as possible".
"This will certainly give the people of Yoogali a great deal of comfort, and we will be getting to work as soon as we can," Councillor Dal Broi.
"We do get heavy downpours during storms, and we definitely don't want to see Yoogali flooded again."

Cr Dal Broi said the funding was "well-timed" to coincide with works currently being done in the new Collina subdivision and the surrounding areas.
Once works are finished, flood water would flow from surrounding areas such as Collina, past Yoogali, and into the Griffith main drain J to prevent overflow.
The $400,000 comes out of the Floodplain Grants Scheme, which is one of a suite of programs from the state government's Natural Disaster Resilience Program.
