The design, which was released on Monday, proposes a centralisation of the hospital's services into one main building.
The paediatrics and maternity units will become more centralised, taking up the majority of the hospital's first floor, along with the Intensive Care Unit and operating theatres.
The surgical and medical inpatient unit will occupy the bulk of the top floor, while the hospital's Ambulatory Care Hub - which includes renal, oncology and specialist clinic sites - will be positioned on the site's ground floor.
Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) chief executive Jill Ludford said the redesign aims to bring all of the hospital's services under one roof.
"The concept design for the Griffith Base Hospital Redevelopment will deliver all key clinical services under one roof in a new, purpose designed building to support contemporary models of care," Ms Ludford said.
"There is currently construction activity on-site as the redevelopment includes a number of early and enabling works to allow the continued operation of the health service while the new hospital is being constructed."
Work on the Ambulatory Care Hub and an extension to the Critical Care and Inpatient Unit is already under way, with work expected to be completed in 2020.
The redesign comes with a price-tag of $250 million and has been in the works since June 2017, when the state government contributed an initial $35 million to the redevelopment.

A summary report prepared by djrd architects in May 2018 stated the need for an upgrade to ensure the site meets current guidelines.
"Generally, very few of the facilities were considered functional for current use or compliant with current guidelines," the report stated.
"The lack of adequate facilities and poor functional relationships between units across the campus limits operational efficiency.
"The relatively remote nature of the Paediatric and Maternity Units results in excessive travel distances to other clinical services and limits the efficiency of clinical operations."
Members of the community wishing to submit feedback about the proposed design can do so by either filling out an online survey via the MLHD website or by attending one of five public information sessions.
The consultation period for the new design is due to close on December 1.
