The competition is used by Murrumbidgee selectors to make their final decision on who will be playing for the Rangers in the Regional Big Bash set to be played later in October.
In place of the competition, there will now be an intrasquad match involving players who are looking to seek selection.
"West Wyalong pulled out, and we had a couple of smaller associations say they wouldn't be able to get teams together for Sunday," Griffith representative coach Tim Rand said.
"We have postponed the carnival at this stage and will be holding a 24-man interclub game instead with a mixture of players from Griffith and other towns who want to be selected for the Rangers.
"We will try and make the teams as even as we can so that the guys are able to get a good hit out of it."
Rand has made the step into senior representative coaching this season with the Griffith side and sees it as a good way to give back.
Along with coaching the Griffith representative side, Rand will also be lending his experience to the Murrumbidgee Rangers at the Regional Big Bash
"Haydn (Pascoe) has asked the last couple of years if I would be interested and this year I thought I'd give it a go," he said.
"He (Pascoe) will captain the team this year and is pretty keen to get out there after missing last season.
"Hopefully, we will be able to take down a strong Rangers team to test ourselves against the stronger associations."
The Rangers will travel to Albury to take on the Border Bullets on October 27 before heading to Canberra on November 3 to versus the Wagga Wagga Sloggers and ACT Aces with the winner heading to the finals to be held on Australia Day at the SCG.
