This Sunday, she will play in her first ever NRLW grand final, as her Dragons side look to dethrone reigning champions Brisbane.
Katoa has played an integral part in helping propel the Red V to finals this season. Her role at prop has seen the predominantly offensive outfit continue to cause chaos for every back line in the competition.
"Prop is a really good position, you get a lot of the contact which I enjoy," Katoa explained.
The Dragons secured their maiden grand final berth by besting the Roosters 24-16.
St George advanced courtesy of points differential, overtaking the Warriors after their victory.
"I'm just excited to have made it this far, win or lose I'm just glad to be here, representing St George and my family back home," she added.
Dragons coach Daniel Lacey remains confident ahead of the big dance. He is assuring supporters that his side are only now stepping into their peak form.
"We do a lot of planning to get to this point," Lacey explained.
"It's something that you build up for so long, the competition is so short you don't want it to be over."
While the Dragons have conceded the opening try in all three of their clashes, their stellar performance in each and every second half has allowed them to reach the finale of footballing excellence.
Centre Jess Sergis made the difference in their clash with the Roosters, scoring with a 40-metre intercept to give her side the lead.
"We were six down and I knew we had to even the score, it all happened so quickly," Sergis said.
The Red V will now look to upset match favourites Brisbane, who have only recorded one loss in their club's history.
That loss was recorded on Saturday night against the Warriors, in a 10-8 upset at the SCG.
The Broncos recent collapse could sway the result of the final, serving to either eliminate complacency or knock the confidence of the Queensland side.
No matter the result, it will be a memorable NRLW final.
