The service, which has been operational at two of the largest hospitals in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) has seen an expansion to a further 28 facilities across the region in the last month.
Local services which have received the new technology include the Griffith Community Health and Aged Care facility at the Base Hospital, the Griffith Community Mental Health service and Leeton Hospital.
MLHD Chief Executive Jill Ludford said the service allows patients to keep in touch with their day-to-day activities while undergoing treatment.
"Giving access to Wi-Fi has enhanced the care we can provide in our hospitals and made such a difference to patients and visitors," Ms Ludford said.
"Many of our patients are here for a large portion of their day while they receive their treatment.
"Internet access means they can pass the time quickly browsing the web, connecting on social media or watching movies via streaming services."

The service provides users with access to Wi-Fi for free, with a paid tier having a greater download speed and allowing for more bandwidth-heavy activities.
286 registered users have accessed the service between August 25 and September 25 at the new locations.
The Griffith and Wagga Base Hospital services have continued to see solid usage, with more than 2700 registered users accessing Wi-Fi at the locations across the last three months.
The service expansion is part of the state government's plan to create a connected network of hospitals and other health services in NSW.
