With less than three weeks to go before the 2019 event, Griffith Relay for Life chairwoman Tammy Hirst said the response for this year's event has been stronger than usual.
"It's more than usual at this time," Ms Hirst said.
"Cancer has become something a lot more people are talking about these days.
"We've also got almost 70 carers and survivors registered which is absolutely huge."
The event has already seen 330 participants sign up to take the to track for the event, with 38 teams signed up so far to help raise funds and support in the fight against cancer.
The tenth event marks a new location for the gathering, with Solar Mad Stadium replacing Exies Oval for 2019.
Ms Hirst said the change of date facilitated a change in location but is excited about what the new location will bring to the table.
"It was very hard to keep it quiet when we first booked it in," Ms Hirst said.
"We're not as spread out this year as we have been at our other venue, which will be nice, it's very cosy and very warming in that respect that everyone will get to know each other and we've all got our own stories to share in regards to cancer.
"Especially for our tenth, it ties in well with that."

However, Ms Hirst is opting to remain tight-lipped regarding all the surprises planned for the event, hoping to leave a few special tricks in the dark for the day.
"We are throwing in a few new things," she said.
"[A] few twists on some old favourites but obviously that's a bit of a surprise for our participants on the day!"
Those interested in learning more about the event are encouraged to attend a team information evening on October 9, which will be held at the Southside Leagues Club from 7pm.
The 2019 Griffith Relay For Life will run from 3pm on Saturday October 12 to 9.30am on Sunday October 13.
