The children of Hanwood Public School dropped everything to witness the moment when Year 6 student and cancer survivor Flynn Edis went bald to raise money for the Leukemia Foundation.

Scissors snipped and clippers buzzed, and in no time at all Flynn was sporting a new haircut and had raised well over $3500 towards cancer research.
"If someone told me I was going to raise $3500 I wouldn't have believed them," Flynn said.
"It's so much money and it's going to such a great cause."

He's already smashed his original fundraising goal of $2000, and the donations are still continuing to pour in.
In a show of solidarity Hanwood teacher Lucy Capstick cut her long locks, Simone Amaro dyed her hair bright pink, and Mark St Barker shaved his head and beard to the delight of the onlooking children.
Their hair will also be going towards a good cause; it'll be made into sponges that will be used to clean up oil spills and help protect the environment.
