The city has a proven desire for musical learning and the newly established Murrumbidgee Regional Conservatorium proves to be whetting Griffith's musical palate, but not enough to slake our thirst.

Already one year out from becoming an established entity, the conservatorium board say their fledgling resources have already been maxed out.
They are calling for music teachers or musicians willing to teach to help branch out to even more schools, something many have already expressed great interest in.
It is going absolute gang-busters.
- Paul Barlow, string teacher
Paul Barlow, string teacher for the conservatorium, has been frequenting the local public schools, but says the demand is stronger than what he and other teachers can cater for.
"Griffith East is a great example of how public schools in Griffith and the surrounding villages are embracing musical learning," he explained.
"They have their own music program now, and it is absolutely going gang-busters."
With a student base of around 70 now, secretary Raina Savage says pilot programs in schools have been met with enthusiasm.
"We have basically reached saturation point in the schools with the teachers we have," Ms Savage said.
"We have other schools and students who are interested, but we don't have the resources to meet such high demand, so we are looking to increase the number of teachers we have and diversify what we teach as well."
Alongside the hunt for teachers, the quest for a building is also ongoing with the hopes for one potential home-base dashed.

"Our official home is Lake Wyangan Public School, but we are investigating options to get a permanent location in town," Ms Savage explained.
The board is now currently looking at potential partnerships with other organisations in town that have complementary interests, with more concrete plans to follow.
The conservatorium offers different tiers of musical learning, with individual lessons, small class groups as well as performance options and pathways into the Griffith City Band, as well as an in-the-works orchestra.
