The region's life-savers assembled together in Griffith to learn about the dos and don'ts for handling fires caused by chemicals such as ammonia.

Dozens of Fire and Rescue NSW, Rural Fire Service, State Emergency Services, police, and ambulance officers came to the Griffith RFS station for a training session and a firey demonstration of the risks.
Yenda station commander Gavin Raccanello said it was a much-needed crash course, given the rising use of these chemicals in the region.
"In this area there are so many businesses that rely on ammonia, and it's a risk that we don't know too much about, so it's good to get that hands-on training" Mr Raccanello said.
