The year 10 student was able to pick up a third placing in the 16-year-old boys shot put and fell narrowly short of picking up second.
Having set out to pick up a medal, Isaac was happy with how he performed.
"I threw 13.25 which is my personal best to take out third and only just missed out on getting second place," he said.
"I was a bit angry, but it wasn't too bad because I was just aiming to pick up a medal."
Having experienced what it feels like to compete at state, Isaac was not overawed by the competition.
"I have made it five times for shot put it is my best field in athletics, and I picked up second in 2017," he said.
The 16-year-old had a very laid back approach in the lead up to the event.
"I had thrown a couple of times before state but not too much," he said.
"I had some help from my old trainer Mr Turner from Yenda."
On a whole Murrumbidgee Regional High School were well represented with nine students, including Isaac, competing in individual events while they also had five relay teams.
Georgia Williams had a good three days at the carnival as she picked up sixth in the 14 years girls 100m and then followed it up with fifth in the 200m event.
Chaise Sergi performed well in the 12-14 years boys 400m where he came fifth while Brodie Mirtschin picked up sixth in the 16 years boys javelin.
In the 13 years boys long jump, Jake Fattore picked up a ninth-place finish while Alannah Starr finished seventh in the 15 years girls shot put.
The best performing relay team was the 13 years boys who picked up a seventh-placed in the 4x100m event.
