It is also their first appearance in the decider since 2015 with captain Josh Veivers, coach Ryan McGoldrick, Jarrad Williams and Dean Chauncey being the only surviving members from that side.
Veivers said his side were pumped to be heading into the decider this weekend.
"Everyone is really excited," he said.
"We had a good run on Tuesday and will be looking to get another good session in on Thursday and carry that into Sunday."
This weekend will be a big one for DPC with the under 18s and reserve grade teams also featuring in the grand final proceedings.
The Roosters skipper knows that it will mean a lot to the community if they were able to pick up the silverware this weekend.
"2015 was the last one we made it into, but we weren't able to get the result we wanted," he said.
"It's huge for the town and the community as a whole if we can get the win.
"The old boys, some of who played in the last win (in 1988), are really getting around us so it will be big for them as well as us if we are able to pick up the win."
The Roosters will be heading into the match with plenty of confidence having defeated West Wyalong in the preliminary final last weekend at Ron Crowe Oval.
The success came off the back of the forwards and Veivers is expecting the grand final to be played out in the same fashion.
"If we can dominate through the middle I think we will be in a good position because we have shown our ability to off the back of that with our talented backline," he said.
"Whether or not Kose (Lelei) plays or not doesn't impact our preparation because we will just play whoever is in front of us.
"I hope he does play because no one wants to miss a grand final through injury because you never know when the next one will come around."
The work of the forwards has come off the back of the hard work from hooker Ben Jeffery, and Veivers has praised the way he has played since returning from injury.
"Benny has been really good for the last four or five weeks since he has returned to the side," he said.
"It's no surprise that the forwards have been playing as well as they have been in recent weeks when they have Ben guiding them around."
