Five of the new officers will be stationed at the Griffith station while one will be stationed at Narrandera.
Murrumbidgee Police District Commander Superintendent Craig Ireland said he was pleased to have some "fresh faces" on the staff as they allow for new ideas to come through the system.
"It's good to have a few new faces," Superintendent Ireland said.
"They bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm."
The new officers are the first to come from the academy to the district since Superintendent Ireland took over the command in June, and he is hopeful more officers will come to the area in the near future.
"There is another batch graduating from the academy in September," he said.
"I'm hoping to get a few more in... it's always good to fill your vacancies."
Superintendent Ireland stated the appointment of an officer in Narrandera means the station will be operating at full capacity.

The new recruits started their positions on Monday after graduating from the Police Academy on the Friday beforehand after a year of study and training.
However, the recruits won't be out of learning mode yet, with each of them paired up with an experienced officer for the first six weeks to help them learn the ropes.
Probationary Constable Emma Doughty said she was excited to work in Griffith, opting to come to the area rather than start her career in Sydney.
"I spoke to a few different police officers that I know and they all said that Griffith's an awesome station to work at," she said.
"I didn't want to go straight to Sydney so I elected to come to Griffith.
"I'm told its a fairly busy station so i'm expecting to see everything that people in the city see and probably more."
The probationary Constables will remain on probation for 12 months before needing to pass a series of tests to allow them to move off probation.
