Nine businesses from the area have been nominated as finalists in the 2019 Murray-Riverina Business Awards, which are due to be held in September.

The NSW Business Chamber regional manager for the area Andrew Cottrill, said the awards aim to highlight the strength of the region's businesses.
"It's been a tough year for many businesses due to the ongoing drought and low water allocations," Mr Cottrill said.
"It will be great to celebrate and highlight the excellence of our local business community."
Griffith businesses will face tough competition at the Murray-Riverina Business Awards, with businesses from Albury, Cootamundra, Deniliquin, Leeton, Temora, Tumut and Wagga Wagga also competing for accolades.

Businesses which claim awards at the event will be put forward as the region's representatives at the upcoming State Business Awards in Sydney, which will be held in November.
Aquna Sustainable Murray Cod is the only local business to receive two nominations, with the company picking up nods for Excellence in Innovation and Excellence in Sustainability.
The business is aiming to add more accolades to their collection, with the company taking out last year's Murray-Riverina Business of the Year.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony held at Temora Aviation Museum on Friday September 6.
