The Waratahs have only played one game in the last three weeks after having had the bye before playing the Roosters in the final round and then having wrapped up the minor premiership they also had the first week of finals off.
The Mallee Men are coming into the clash off the back two convincing wins including a 26-0 win over an undermanned Yanco-Wamoon side last weekend in the qualifying final.
After the game on Sunday, West Wyalong's co-coach Jake Goodwin knew his side were in for a challenge this weekend.
"It will be a completely different game," he said.
"Waratahs have a completely different play style to Yanco.
"It is going to be a massive game for us, especially over there they will be up for it, but we are keen as."
In the two meetings between the two sides earlier in the season, it was the home side who was able to take the points.
Waratahs assistant coach Trey Woodland is expecting another close match-up come Sunday.
"I think both teams have learnt a lot from the previous two matches," he said.
"Both games were pretty close with a tough battle in the middle, and it came down to who was able to use their outside backs the best.
"They will be well prepared and have been travelling pretty well while we will be looking to use the home final to our advantage.
"To get the home, major semi-final is what you play all season for."
The Waratahs are hopeful of having a full-strength side but do have a couple of clouds hanging over the side heading into the major semi-final.
"Aistan Fidow is under a bit of a cloud at the moment after picking up a knee injury in the last match," he said.
"Tom Sellars could also be back this weekend, which would be a massive boost.
"He may not be 100 per cent, but he has played a lot of top-level footy and coach plenty of games in Group 20 and has a wealth of experience."
Woodland knows there will be one player they will need to look out for.
"Lou Goodwin is someone we will have to watch," he said.
"Whatever positive play, they are able to create seems to come from a play involving him."
The action at Exies Oval will get underway at 10am with the under 16s clash between Yenda and West Wyalong.
The first-grade major semi-final set to kick off at around 3.15pm.
