On September 19 at 6pm, the library will host an exciting event with Dr Lee Kofman. In a captivating mix of memoir and cultural critique, Dr Kofman casts a questioning eye on the myths surrounding our conception of physical perfection and what it's like to live in a body that deviates from the norm.
Dr Kofman is a Russian-born Israeli-Australian author of five books, editor of two anthologies, writing teacher and mentor based in Melbourne.
The free event will run for about one hour, with the author's books available to purchase.
Senior Constable Alex Davies will present a cyber safety session called THINK U KNOW at the library on Monday, September 9 at 11am.
The presentation is an opportunity for parents, adults and carers to learn how to create a safe online environment for young people. It will provide an insight into what young people are looking at and engaging with online.
The library will also be supporting Prostate Cancer Awareness Month with a designated area that will provide up to date medical resources and support group contacts.
Don't forget our regular children's programs: Rhyme Time on Tuesday at 10am and storytime on Friday at 10am. Feel free to drop into the library to become a member - it's free - or access Wi-Fi, and view our new release books, DVDs and novelty cake tins.
