The Swans guaranteed themselves third spot but just as importantly got back into form with a 11.12 (78) to 5.12 (42) victory at Exies Oval.
Griffith welcomed back a number of key personnel just two weeks out from finals and it paid an instant dividend as the Swans produced one of their best performances in the two months.
They also got one back over the fifth-placed Goannas, who embarrassed them earlier in the year to the tune of 65 points.
The Swans got on top in the second quarter, kicking three goals to one to open up a 17-point lead. They then stamped their authority on the contest with another four goals to one in the third term.
Griffith ruckman Nathan Richards' return made an immediate difference for the Swans as he provided a strong contest in his first game in two months.
James Toscan continued his strong season with a big game on MCUE forward George Kendall, the return of Jordy Iudica and Heath Northey made a significant difference, while Sam Daniels had a big game and finished with three goals.
The win also ensured Griffith celebrated Jono Gastin's 200th game with a win.
Griffith coach Will Griggs, who was one of the best players on the ground himself, was pleased to see his team back at their best.
"It was a much better performance. The first three quarters were really good," Griggs said.
"They battled pretty hard, especially in the first half, but once we kicked the first couple in the third quarter they looked a bit depleted.
"Our skills were a lot better today, especially our short ones. The last time we played them, they put a lot of pressure on us and we bombed away. They're a tall team and that played into their hands."
Griggs believes the return of key personnel played the biggest part in Griffith's turnaround.
"It helps getting personnel back in," he said.
"Even Nath (Richards). He was a bit underdone but just having that big body to hit the ball around the ground, it's good."
The Swans will now finish the home and away season with a trip to Robertson Oval to face ladder leaders, Wagga Tigers.
Griggs said the beauty of the win over MCUE meant it was all about preparing for their qualifying final clash with Coolamon the week after.
"We can rest a few now," he said.
"It's nice to have confidence going in but we're not going to risk anyone who's sore."
Jack Carey and Trent Cohalan were best for MCUE, who finish the home and away season with Collingullie-Glenfield Park next week.
