After coming up to Bush Freeze organiser Wendy Keogh, she knew that Jack's efforts of raising $150 by himself needed to be recognised.
"He was going to put the money in a little tin, but his mum said to come and give it to me, and I am so glad that he did because kids like this need recognition," she said.
"He has done a fantastic job for an amazing cause."
It took some investigating work from Keogh to track down the generous youngster, but her determination paid off.
"The juniors had Narrandera Leeton and Griffith that day," she said.
"I had a photo of just Jack and his brother, and I didn't get his surname. I started at Narrandera and went to all the schools over there, and no one knew him, so I did the same in Leeton and then came to Griffith and was able to track him down through one of my customers.
"I was determined to find him."
The fundraising which takes in the Big Bush Freeze is know sitting around the $42,000 mark, and Keogh thanked the community as a whole for their generosity.
